With iPhone Air, Apple revived its MagSafe Battery pack. At $99, it’s slim, stylish, and made by Apple, but it comes with two big caveats: low capacity and slower charging.
The official pack only delivers 12W wireless charging, even though iPhone Air supports 20W over MagSafe. And with a modest capacity, it won’t get you through a long day unless you use it as more of a “top-up” accessory. That makes it hard to justify the price when Qi2-certified options exist that are faster, bigger, and cheaper.
Here are three alternatives worth your money.
Anker Nano Power Bank (The Best All-Rounder)

- Capacity: 5000mAh
- Charging: 15W Qi2 wireless + USB-C wired
- Price: $45.99 (down from $54.99)
Anker nails the balance of slim design and strong performance. It charges faster than Apple’s pack (15W vs. 12W), runs cooler, and feels just as premium in-hand. If you want Apple-like design without the Apple tax, this is the closest match.

Baseus 5000mAh MagSafe Battery (The Budget Pick)

- Capacity: 5000mAh
- Charging: 7.5W wireless + 20W wired via USB-C
- Price: $19.99 (down from $22.99)
This is the cheapest option, and while it lacks Qi2 support (so wireless charging tops out at 7.5W), it makes up for it with wired 20W USB-C charging in a pinch. The slim design and multiple color choices make it a solid backup option if you’re on a budget.
UGREEN 10000mAh MagSafe Battery (The Power User Choice)

- Capacity: 10000mAh
- Charging: 25W Qi2.2 wireless + 30W USB-C wired
- Price: $69.99 (down from $89.99)
If you care more about capacity than portability, this is the one. It’s bulkier, but it supports Qi2.2 for blazing 25W wireless charging on iPhone 16 and later, plus fast wired speeds. The built-in display for battery level is a nice touch.
The 404 Take
Apple’s official iPhone Air MagSafe battery may look great, but at $99 for 12W charging and limited juice, it’s not the most practical choice. Qi2 accessories from Anker, Baseus, and UGREEN offer faster speeds, larger batteries, and better value for far less.
