Apple has rolled out iOS 18.5 Public Beta 3 and iPadOS 18.5 Public Beta 3. If you’re part of Apple’s public beta program, you can download the latest updates right now.

This public beta release closely follows the developer version of iOS 18.5 beta 4, which dropped just a day earlier.

What’s New in iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5 Public Beta 3?

Similar to the last public beta 2, don’t expect any major new features this time around. Public Beta 3 mainly brings bug fixes, stability improvements, and minor enhancements designed to polish the overall experience.

So far, the noticeable changes are pretty minimal. Some small updates have been spotted in the Mail app and a few subtle UI adjustments inside the Settings app. In short, this beta is more about refining the current features rather than introducing new ones.

Installing iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5 Public Beta 3

If this is your first time installing a public beta, here’s how you can get started:

  • Sign Up for the Beta Program: Visit beta.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
  • Enroll Your Device: Follow the instructions to enroll your iPhone or iPad in the beta program.
  • Download the Beta: Go to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates, then select iOS 18 Public Beta (or iPadOS).
  • Install and Update: Return to Software Update and download the new beta. Make sure your device is charged and connected to Wi-Fi.

To Update or Not?

If you’re already running a public beta version, updating to Public Beta 3 makes sense to benefit from the latest fixes. However, if you prefer to avoid the occasional bugs that come with beta software, it might be safer to stick with the stable version until the official iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5 rollouts arrive.
