Apple just gave Apple Music a little AI boost in iOS 26.4, and this one is actually fun.
With the first developer beta of iOS 26.4, Apple is introducing a new Apple Intelligence feature called “Playlist Playground”. And yes, it does exactly what it sounds like.
Playlist Playground arrives in iOS 26.4
The new feature lets you generate playlists using simple text prompts inside Apple Music.
Want “late night rainy drive vibes”?
Or “gym songs that make me feel unstoppable”?
You just type it in, and Apple Music builds a playlist around your description.
To find it:
- Open Apple Music
- Go to the Library tab
- Tap the new playlist icon in the top-right corner
From there, you can enter a custom prompt or choose from built-in New Playlist Ideas suggestions if you need inspiration.
Right now, Playlist Playground is clearly labeled as a beta feature, which means results may vary. But this is one of the first visible Apple Intelligence features inside Apple Music that feels practical instead of experimental.
Apple is quietly turning Music into an AI-powered curator
Between the new fullscreen album redesign in iOS 26.4 and now Playlist Playground, Apple Music is starting to feel more dynamic.
Instead of manually building every playlist from scratch, you can now describe a mood, an activity, or even a chaotic life moment and let AI handle the heavy lifting.
It’s a direct response to how people actually use music today. We don’t always know what songs we want. We just know the vibe.
iOS 26.4 is currently available to developer beta testers, with a public beta expected in the coming weeks.
