iOS 18.5 Public Beta 2 and iPadOS 18.5 public beta 2 have been released. Here’s how to download and install it on your iPhone or iPad.

This update is following on the heels of iOS / iPadOS 18.5 beta 3 for developers that was released just a day prior.

What’s New in iOS 18.5 Public Beta 2 and iPadOS 18.5 Public Beta 2?

As with most second beta updates, iOS 18.5 Public Beta 2 doesn’t come with any major new features. This release is focused on bug fixes and performance improvements, likely making your device run smoother compared to last week’s initial beta. So far, no new major features have been discovered in this beta.

Minimal New Features So Far

The changes discovered so far have been minor. For iOS 18.5, there are two updates to the Mail app and some small UI tweaks in the Settings app. It’s clear that Apple is focusing more on refining the current features and ensuring that the performance is optimal.

How to Install the Public Beta (For First-Time Beta Testers)

If you’re new to Apple’s public betas and want to try iOS 18.5 or iPadOS 18.5, follow these simple steps to install the beta:

Should You Install the Beta?

If you’re already on the public beta, you can go ahead and install this new update to take advantage of the fixes and enhancements. But if you’re hesitant or want to avoid the occasional bugs that come with beta software, it might be better to wait for the final version of iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5.
