Apple has released iOS 26.3 public beta 3 and iPadOS 26.3 public beta 3, giving non-developers access to the same build that shipped to developers earlier this week.

If you were hoping for a feature-packed update, this is another quiet beta. Still, there are a couple of meaningful changes worth paying attention to, especially if privacy and small UI refinements matter to you.

A new privacy control for cellular location data

The most notable addition in iOS 26.3 beta 3 is a new setting called “Limit Precise Location“.

Cellular networks have always been able to estimate your location based on which towers your device connects to. Apple says this new option reduces how precise that information can be.

When enabled, carriers may only be able to determine a general area, such as the neighborhood you are in, rather than a more exact location like a street address. Apple stresses that this does not affect signal quality, data performance, or emergency services.

This setting lives under Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options, but not everyone will see it.

Hardware and carrier limits apply

For now, Limit Precise Location is restricted to iPhones that use Apple’s in-house modem hardware. That means:

  • iPhone Air
  • iPhone 16e

Carrier support is also very limited at the moment, though Apple is expected to expand availability over time. Rumors already suggest that the iPhone 18 lineup could bring this feature to more users by default.

A small but welcome tweak to the share sheet

iOS 26.3 beta 3 also refines a familiar interface element: the share sheet.

Previously, the fourth action slot at the bottom of the share sheet was labeled “More,” and tapping it would replace the button with a hidden action. In beta 3, this behavior has changed.

The button now reads View More, paired with a down arrow. Tapping it expands the list and switches the label to View Less, making it clearer what is happening. The previously hidden action now appears at the top of the expanded list instead.

It is a subtle change, but it makes the share sheet feel more predictable and less confusing.

What about iPadOS 26.3

On the iPad side, iPadOS 26.3 public beta 3 mirrors iOS closely. There are no iPad-exclusive features in this build, and Apple appears to be focusing on stability, bug fixes, and performance improvements rather than new functionality.

And yes, iPadOS 26.3 also adds the Limite Precise Location feature to iPads, but for now the feature is exclusive to the M5 iPad Pro with a C1X modem.

That is typical for mid-cycle point updates like this, especially as Apple shifts attention toward later releases.
