iPad Ownership Rivals iPhone, Surpasses Mac by a Long Shot

While the iPhone continues to be Apple’s undisputed best-seller, a new study highlights an underappreciated success story within Apple’s ecosystem, the iPad.

According to the CIRP survey, nearly 8 in 10 Apple users own an iPad, making it the company’s second most commonly owned product, significantly ahead of the Mac.

This survey offers a clearer view into how Apple customers engage with the company’s major product lines, and the findings might surprise some.

The study also highlighted that around 74% of Apple customers own both an iPhone and iPad, reinforcing the idea that the iPad is a key secondary device for many users. In contrast, only 30% of users surveyed own all three major Apple products (iPhone, iPad, and Mac), indicating that the Mac remains more of a niche option for certain user types.

So what’s driving the iPad’s popularity? Affordability is certainly part of it, but the iPad’s multifunctional use cases, from entertainment and education to productivity, likely explain why it remains a fan favorite.
