Apple is getting closer to wrapping up the macOS Sequoia 15.5 update. Today, macOS 15.5 Beta 4 has officially been released for developers, bringing another round of refinements and small improvements.
Update: Public beta 3 is now live shorty after developer beta 4 was released.
If you’re already enrolled in Apple’s developer beta program, you can grab the new update now by heading to System Settings > General > Software Update on your Mac.
What’s New in macOS Sequoia 15.5 Beta 4?
Honestly, not a lot. Like the recent iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5 betas, this update is all about polishing what’s already there. So far, noticeable changes are limited to a few tweaks in the Apple Mail app. Otherwise, it’s mainly bug fixes, security updates, and performance boosts.
No big features have been spotted yet, and at this point, it doesn’t seem like Apple is planning to drop anything major before launch.
Is This the Last Beta?
It’s starting to look that way. With WWDC just weeks away and iOS 19, macOS 16, and other big updates on the horizon, Apple seems to be winding down the current beta cycle. We could see a Release Candidate (RC) version of macOS 15.5 pretty soon, possibly within the next couple of weeks. A full public release should land sometime around mid-May if everything stays on track.
Should You Install macOS 15.5 Beta 4?
If you’re already running a previous macOS 15.5 beta, it’s definitely worth updating to get the latest fixes. But if you’re not into dealing with potential beta bugs, you might want to hold off and wait for the final version.
