Apple just dropped beta 3 of iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5 for developers to download and install on the iPhone and iPad.
You will not find any new features in this release, just contains the usual bug fixes and performance tuning. It’s the kind of behind-the-scenes work that makes your iPhone or iPad feel smoother without you even realizing it.
How to Install iOS 18.5 or iPadOS 18.5 Beta 3
If you’re on the developer beta track, here’s how to update:
- Open Settings
- Head to General > Software Update
- Tap Update Now when it appears
Installation might take a little while, which is normal for beta builds. Once it’s done, you’re good to go. As usual, this beta is for developers only. The public beta version should be following shortly for everyone else enrolled in Apple’s Beta Software Program.
With iOS 19 just around the corner (hello WWDC in June), iOS 18.5 is all about tightening things up. Apple is clearly aiming for a clean, stable experience with this one.
