WhatsApp is rolling out new features on Android and iOS (including the iPad) to make Status updates more expressive and personal. These updates bring creative tools that let you share everyday moments or special events with more style, all while keeping your updates private and limited to your chosen contacts.
These features are rolling out as I write, and will be available to all users in the coming days.
What’s New in WhatsApp Status
Layout Collage Tool
You can now turn up to six images into a custom collage using WhatsApp’s new layout editor. This lets you control how photos appear in your Status, useful for events, travel, or just showing multiple moments at once.
Music-Only Status
Share a Status focused entirely on music. This lets you post a specific song without needing to add photos or videos, giving you a new way to share your mood.
Music Stickers
Want to match music with a photo or video? Add a music sticker to your Status to highlight the song that best fits the moment.
Photo Stickers
Convert any image into a sticker, resize it, and place it on your Status. It’s a quick way to add personality or humor to your posts.
“Add Yours” Sticker
Start a conversation by posting a photo with the “Add Yours” sticker. Friends can respond with their own photos and share them to their own Status, creating a chain of shared experiences.
