Apple’s September ‘Awe dropping’ event wasn’t just about shiny new iPhones and AirPods — iPads are getting some love too. The company has officially confirmed that iPadOS 26 will be released on Monday, September 15.
What’s new in iPadOS 26?
This is the iPad update many have been waiting for. Apple is doubling down on productivity, with features that make the iPad feel more like a true laptop replacement:
- A Mac-style windowing system for better multitasking
- An upgraded dock and menu bar
- A smarter cursor experience
- The sleek Liquid Glass redesign that’s also coming to iOS 26
On top of that, you’re getting many of the same improvements from iOS 26 — so it’s not just productivity, but also quality-of-life upgrades across the board.
Which iPads get iPadOS 26?
Here’s the full list of supported models:
- iPad Pro 13-inch (M4 and newer)
- iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd gen and newer)
- iPad Pro 11-inch (all models)
- iPad Air (M2 and newer, plus 3rd gen and newer)
- iPad mini (A17 Pro, plus 5th gen and newer)
