Apple is preparing to open a brand-new retail location tomorrow at The Shops at Blackstone Valley in Millbury, Massachusetts.
The store will officially open its doors on Friday, December 12, at 12 p.m. local time, giving customers in the Worcester area a refreshed and more modern Apple retail experience. The new location sits next to Coach inside the open-air shopping center, making it a convenient stop for holiday shoppers.
This opening marks a relocation rather than a brand-new market entry. Apple permanently closed its Solomon Pond Mall store in Marlborough earlier this week after more than ten years of operation. As is standard practice during Apple store relocations, all employees were offered the opportunity to transition to the Blackstone Valley location, ensuring continuity and support for both staff and customers.

Although Apple has not provided a full public reveal of the new store, a photo shared by local resident Steve Stearns offers an early glimpse of the exterior. The design appears consistent with Apple’s newer retail direction, which focuses on clarity, customer flow, and service accessibility.

Visitors can expect several updated features that are now common in Apple’s recent store openings. There will be a dedicated counter for customers picking up items purchased online, a change designed to streamline quick visits. The Genius Bar, which has regained prominence in Apple’s retail layout, will once again serve as a central hub for technical support and repairs.
In addition, the store will host free “Today at Apple” sessions, which provide hands-on creative and educational experiences for customers. These sessions typically cover photography, video creation, drawing, music, and device-specific skills, and they are a popular way for users to get more out of their Apple products.

With the holiday season underway, the timing of the opening gives local shoppers a new and convenient destination for buying devices, scheduling support, and exploring Apple’s latest products. The move strengthens Apple’s retail presence in Massachusetts and continues its broader effort to modernize older locations with more inviting and operationally efficient designs.
