Apple has once again adjusted its trade-in values across the board — and for most devices, the changes aren’t exactly great news.

While a few products like the iPad Air saw a small bump, most iPhone, Mac, and Apple Watch models dropped slightly in trade-in value.

The new prices are now live on Apple’s official Trade-In website, where users can check how much their old devices are worth toward a new purchase.

iPhones Take a Hit

Unsurprisingly, the biggest changes are in the iPhone lineup. The iPhone 16 Pro Max now trades in for up to $670, down from $700, while the standard iPhone 16 drops from $450 to $420. Even last year’s iPhone 15 models lost some value — with the 15 Pro Max slipping from $630 to $470.

Here’s a quick snapshot of the top models:

Basically — if you’re holding onto an older Pro model, it’s worth trading it in sooner rather than later.

Macs and iPads See Mixed Changes

Macs didn’t fare much better. The MacBook Pro now maxes out at $760 (down slightly), while the iMac Pro dropped from $385 to $240. The Mac Studio also saw a noticeable dip, falling from $1,140 to $1,030.

On the bright side, the iPad Air went up a bit — from $400 to $415 — while other iPads either stayed the same or dipped slightly.

iPad AirUp to $415Up to $400
iPad miniUp to $255Up to $275

Apple has also stopped accepting trade-ins for the 12-inch MacBook, which now officially leaves the program.

Apple Watch and Android Updates

Apple Watch trade-in values also got minor tweaks. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 remains unchanged at $335, while the Series 10 and Series 9 dropped slightly.

Apple even updated trade-in values for select Android smartphones, though those changes weren’t detailed publicly.

Series 10Up to $160Up to $175
Ultra 2Up to $335Up to $335
Series 9Up to $125Up to $130

Apple’s trade-in values fluctuate several times a year, and this round leans slightly negative. If you’re thinking of upgrading, it’s worth checking your device’s current value before it dips further.

You can complete your trade-in online or in-store at any Apple Store location. Just note that values listed are “up to” amounts — your actual offer may vary based on condition and configuration.
