Apple has released a new beta firmware for AirPods Pro 3, giving testers an early look at potential updates before iOS 26.2 arrives.

The firmware comes as build 8B5025a and is available today for registered beta testers.

iOS 26.2 is expected to bring AirPods Live Translation to more users, and this beta firmware may hint at additional improvements for the AirPods Pro 3. Apple doesn’t always release AirPods firmware in sync with iOS updates, so sometimes new features or fixes arrive a bit earlier or later than the main iPhone and iPad updates.

The official release notes simply list “bug fixes and other improvements,” so it’s unclear if any new functionality is included in today’s beta. Given the upcoming public launch of iOS 26.2, this beta firmware could be part of the final rollout or serve as a short testing cycle before general release.

For now, beta testers can install the firmware and keep an eye out for any new AirPods features, and we’ll report back if anything noteworthy appears.

How to Get It

This beta firmware update can now be installed via the AirPods settings menu when your AirPods are connected to your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. No complicated sideloading required, Apple’s making things a little easier this year.

Just a heads-up: the firmware is only available for developers, so if you’re not on the beta train, you’ll have to wait for the public release later this year, most likely alongside the full rollout of iOS 26.2 and macOS 26.2.
