Apple has announced an updated Vision Pro headset featuring the new M5 chip, improved comfort with a Dual Knit Band, and smoother visuals with 120Hz display support.
The refresh brings faster performance, better graphics, and longer battery life, all while keeping the same design and price.
M5 Chip Boosts AI and Graphics Power
The new M5 chip inside the Vision Pro includes a 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. Apple says this enables:
- Up to 50% faster AI performance for Apple Intelligence and other on-device features
- 10% more pixels rendered for sharper visuals and text clarity
- Hardware-accelerated ray tracing and mesh shading for better graphics in apps and games
- Longer battery life, with up to 3 hours of video playback per charge (up from 2.5 hours on the M2 model)
The display can now reach 120Hz refresh rates, making movement smoother and reducing motion blur, especially when using Mac Virtual Display.
Dual Knit Band for Comfort and Balance

Apple is introducing a new Dual Knit Band, made from two straps seamlessly woven into one piece:
- The upper strap sits across the top of the head
- The lower strap wraps around the back, with tungsten inserts for counterweight and balance
- Both straps are adjustable with the Fit Dial for a secure, personalized fit

The Dual Knit Band is included with the new Vision Pro and sold separately for $99. It also works with the first-generation model.
Accessories, Pricing, and Availability
The updated Vision Pro package includes:
- Dual Knit Band and Light Seal cushions
- Cover and polishing cloth
- 40W Dynamic Power Adapter (60W Max) replacing the older 30W adapter
- Battery pack and USB-C charging cable
The new Vision Pro still starts at $3,499, available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB configurations. It’s now open for pre-orders, with deliveries and in-store availability starting October 22.
It will launch in more regions, including Australia, Canada, Japan, France, Germany, and the UAE, with South Korea and Taiwan following later.
Apple is also expanding the Vision Pro app to iPad with iPadOS 26.1, expected later this year.
