Apple has released a new firmware update for the AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4, bumping the build number to 8A358, up from 8A356.

This rollout comes just a few weeks after the previous update, which brought major iOS 26 features to Apple’s latest and previous-generation earbuds.

Are There Any Noticeable Changes?

Although Apple hasn’t provided an official changelog for firmware version 8A358, it likely focuses on bug fixes, performance improvements, and refinements to the new features introduced earlier.

The prior 8A356 update added a significant set of enhancements, including better audio quality for phone and video calls, studio-quality recording for podcasts, interviews, and videos, as well as Live Translation for supported languages.

These updates were part of Apple’s broader effort to integrate Apple Intelligence capabilities across its ecosystem, including AirPods.

Users shouldn’t expect any visible interface changes, but improvements under the hood could enhance connectivity, stability, and sound consistency.

How to Update?

Apple’s firmware updates typically install automatically in the background once the AirPods are connected to a nearby iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

To ensure your AirPods update successfully, keep them in their charging case, connected to power, and within Bluetooth range of your paired device. After about 30 minutes, the firmware should update automatically.
