OpenAI has rolled out a major update to ChatGPT, turning it into a powerful product discovery and comparison tool for shopping.
Full-Featured Product Finder
Users can now search for items like “best 4K monitor under $500” and get clean, scrollable product cards with images, prices, ratings, and user review summaries — no ads, no affiliate bias.
The update includes visual search results, personalized recommendations, and better product filtering. A new “Ask about this” button lets you dig deeper into any product, and clicking a result opens direct links to retailer websites.
All features are available to both free and paid users, with no login required. The rollout is global and supports web and mobile platforms, though some personalization options may be limited in places like the UK and EU due to privacy rules.
Other updates include:
- Multiple citations in responses for better transparency
- Faster searching with trending queries and autocomplete
- New WhatsApp integration: message 1-800-ChatGPT for real-time answers or live sports scores
