More than a year after Apple Vision Pro debuted, YouTube has finally launched an official native app for visionOS.
When Vision Pro arrived in February 2024, YouTube was one of the most noticeable big-name absences. Google confirmed at the time that an app was on its roadmap, but encouraged users to watch via Safari in the meantime.
Now, the wait is over.
YouTube for Vision Pro is finally here
Starting today, Vision Pro users can download the official YouTube app directly from the App Store.
Until now, users had to rely on Safari or third-party apps. Several of those alternative apps were eventually pulled after Google raised concerns about guideline violations. So this official release has been a long time coming.
And honestly, it makes the Vision Pro feel more complete.
What the native app includes

The YouTube app for Apple Vision Pro supports all the core features you’d expect:
- Subscriptions
- Watch history
- Playlists
- YouTube Shorts
More importantly for a spatial device, the app also supports:
- 3D videos
- 360-degree videos
- VR180 content

You can watch content inside visionOS environments, making the experience feel far more immersive than simply viewing in a Safari window.
For a headset that’s built around immersive media, this support matters. A lot.
YouTube is the world’s largest video platform and no native app was a strange gap for Vision Pro
Now that it’s here, Apple Vision Pro users get a more polished, optimized experience with proper immersive video support. It also signals that Google is taking visionOS more seriously than some initially expected.
If you’ve been using Safari to watch YouTube on Vision Pro, this upgrade should feel noticeable.
The YouTube app for Apple Vision Pro is rolling out now on the App Store.
