Apple has just released Public Beta 4 for watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and HomePod 26. Here’s what you need to know.
Public Beta 4 Matches Developer Beta 7
Just earlier, Apple rolled out developer beta 7 for its upcoming major software updates across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, Vision Pro and HomePod.
Today, those same updates are arriving for public testers as Public Beta 4.
Mostly Bug Fixes and Stability + Blood Oxygen Feature for Apple Watch
Just like the last round of betas, this release appears to focus on bug fixes and performance improvements rather than new features.
So far, tvOS 26, and HomePod 26 haven’t shown any noticeable new additions in Public Beta 4. watchOS 26 Public Beta 4 however, brings in the redesigned Blood Oxygen feature that rolled out with iOS 18.6.1 and watchOS 11.6.1 a couple of days ago, and was then released with iOS 26 Beta 7 and watchOS 26 Beta 7.
The bigger changes this summer: like the new ringtones, Liquid Glass updates, and other tweaks, are still mostly limited to iOS 26. Those revisions are also reflected in today’s public beta 4 release.
What to Expect Next
At this stage in beta season, we’re just a few weeks away from the official release of Apple’s fall software updates. From here on out, expect betas to be about polishing performance and eliminating bugs to ensure smooth day-one launches.
The upside? Each new build, including today’s Public Beta 4, should feel a bit more stable than the last.
