TikTok is introducing a new way for users to manage how much AI-generated content appears in their For You feed. The company announced a new AI content control toggle that will roll out in the Manage Topics section of the app in the coming weeks.
A New Slider for AI-Generated Content
The Manage Topics section already lets users adjust what they see across categories such as Sports, Fashion, Dance, Health and Current Affairs. TikTok is now adding AI as a separate category. Instead of a simple on or off switch, TikTok is offering a slider so users can increase or reduce the amount of AI content they see.

TikTok has confirmed that users will not be able to turn AI-generated content off completely. However, those who want more human-created videos can choose to lower their exposure, while people who enjoy AI content can use the slider to see more of it.
Testing Invisible Watermarking for AI Content
Alongside the new control toggle, TikTok is testing a feature called invisible watermarking. This system keeps an AI-generated label attached to a video, even if someone tries to remove it or reupload it on another platform.
The watermark is stored in the metadata, making it more difficult to erase. TikTok will apply these invisible watermarks to videos created using its own AI tools, including AI Editor Pro. It will also apply them to any uploads that include C2PA Content Credentials.
Why These Updates Matter
AI-generated videos have become more common on TikTok, and many users have raised concerns about transparency and authenticity. The new AI slider gives people more control over the type of content they see, while invisible watermarking helps maintain clarity about whether something was created with AI.
These changes are designed to make the viewing experience more predictable and to help users understand the origin of the content they interact with.
What to Expect Next
TikTok says the AI category will appear in user settings within the next few weeks. As the company continues to test watermarking technologies, more AI-generated content on the platform will gradually include these hidden labels.
Both updates aim to provide better visibility and more control at a time when AI-created videos are increasing across all social platforms.
