Sony has announced a new 27-inch PlayStation gaming monitor designed for console players who prefer a desktop setup. The display not only brings high refresh rates and vivid visuals but also includes a clever charging stand for the DualSense controller.

Designed for PlayStation and PC Gamers

The upcoming 27-inch monitor features a 2,560 x 1,440 resolution and supports HDR with automatic tone mapping during setup. On the PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro, it runs at up to 120Hz, while PC and Mac users can enjoy refresh rates up to 240Hz.

Ports and Connectivity

Sony has packed the monitor with a range of ports for flexible setups, including:

  • 1x USB-C port
  • 2x USB-A ports (for accessories such as the PlayStation Link wireless headphone adapter)
  • 3.5mm headphone jack

It also features built-in stereo speakers, though Sony provides a wired headphone option for more immersive sound.

DualSense Charging Hook

Perhaps the most eye-catching feature is the flip-down hook on the back of the monitor, which can hold and charge one DualSense controller. It’s a neat, space-saving touch that fits perfectly into a desk-based gaming setup.

Availability and Launch Details

Sony says the PlayStation 27-inch Gaming Monitor with DualSense Charging Hook will launch in the U.S. and Japan sometime in 2026, though pricing has not yet been revealed.

For context, the last time Sony released a dedicated console monitor was back in 2011, when it debuted a 24-inch 3D display for the PlayStation 3.
