Apple has started rolling out macOS Tahoe 26.3 beta 3 to developers, bringing another incremental update to Macs enrolled in the developer beta program.

If you’re expecting major new features, this one appears to be a fairly quiet release.

A mostly low-key update

While iOS 26.3 has introduced some notable additions, including EU-mandated third-party notification forwarding, macOS Tahoe 26.3 is shaping up to be much more reserved. So far, Apple seems focused on the usual round of bug fixes, stability improvements, and performance tuning rather than user-facing changes.

That said, Apple sometimes tucks smaller enhancements or under-the-hood changes into these builds. We’re digging through the update and will report back if anything noteworthy turns up.

For those tracking builds, the release identifier for macOS Tahoe 26.3 beta 3 is 25D5112c.

How to install macOS Tahoe 26.3 developer beta 3

If your Mac is already enrolled in Apple’s developer beta program, installing the update is straightforward:

  1. Back up your Mac
  2. Open System Settings
  3. Go to General > Software Update
  4. Click the “i” icon next to Beta Updates
  5. From the dropdown menu, select macOS Developer Tahoe Beta
  6. Click Done and install the update

As always, beta software can be unpredictable, so it’s best installed on a secondary device.

macOS Tahoe 26.3 beta 3 feels like a maintenance-focused release so far, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Quiet updates often lay the groundwork for bigger changes down the line, even if they don’t grab headlines on day one.

If you’ve already installed the new beta and noticed anything new or unusual, let us know in the comments.
