Apple has rolled out the third public beta of macOS Tahoe 26.2, arriving just a day after the developer version went live.

Public beta testers enrolled through Apple’s beta program can grab the update right now through System Settings > Software Update.

Edge Light Returns with Refinements

One of the standout additions in macOS Tahoe 26.2 is Edge Light, introduced earlier in beta 2. This feature places a subtle glowing border around your Mac’s display during video calls, giving you a ring-light effect without additional hardware.

Edge Light uses the Neural Engine to position the illumination correctly around your face and lets you adjust between warm and cool tones. It sits alongside existing video effects like backgrounds, Portrait mode, and Voice Isolation, and is available on Apple silicon Macs only.

Release Nearing

With previous macOS timelines as reference, macOS Tahoe 26.2 is expected to land around mid-December, following a short public testing phase.

If you’re part of the beta program, the update is ready to download now.
