Less than a week after beta 1, Apple has rolled out macOS Tahoe 26.2 developer beta 2, bringing a new video call feature and ongoing refinements across the system.
Unlike the first beta, which focused mostly on bug fixes and behind-the-scenes improvements, this new update adds something users will actually notice — a new “Edge Light” effect.
The feature creates a subtle glowing border around your Mac’s display during video calls, giving a natural lighting boost and helping you stand out on camera. It’s a small touch but a welcome addition for those who frequently take FaceTime or third-party video calls on Mac.
Beyond that, macOS 26.2 continues Apple’s work on system-level MCP integration and expands groundwork for third-party AI providers within Image Playground, extending beyond ChatGPT. These changes are part of Apple’s broader plan to make macOS more flexible and AI-ready for future releases.
The new build (25C5037j) is now available to registered developers.
