Another alleged glimpse of the iPhone 17 Pro’s redesigned MagSafe layout has surfaced, and while the image isn’t the clearest, it adds weight to earlier leaks suggesting a subtle change in Apple’s magnetic accessory system.

MagSafe Design Adjusted for iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max

The latest leak comes from a user known as “UnclePan” on Chinese social platform Weibo, showing what appear to be third-party MagSafe-compatible cases for the entire iPhone 17 lineup, including the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

In the image, cases for the iPhone 17 Pro models show a MagSafe ring with a visible break, unlike the full circular magnet used in current iPhones. This partial ring design appears exclusive to the Pro variants. The iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air maintain the traditional full-circle MagSafe layout.

Apple Logo Position and Camera Bump Influence Design

One reason behind this change may be the lower positioning of the Apple logo on the iPhone 17 Pro models. The adjustment is likely to accommodate a larger rear camera bump, ensuring that the logo remains centered and visible through updated MagSafe cases.

As usual, the MagSafe outline itself won’t appear on the iPhones, only on MagSafe-compatible accessories and cases.

What This Tells Us

  • Only Pro models appear to have the revised MagSafe ring.
  • The Apple logo position is shifting due to hardware changes on the rear.
  • Third-party case manufacturers are already adapting to this design, suggesting high confidence in the accuracy of the leak.

With just about six weeks to go until Apple officially unveils the iPhone 17 lineup at its September event, expect more leaks like this to surface, and potentially confirm design refinements Apple is quietly making behind the scenes.
