Looks like Apple is about to make carrying your iPhone a whole lot trendier. A new leak suggests that alongside the iPhone 17 lineup, Apple will debut a crossbody strap accessory designed to work with its upcoming TechWoven cases — and it’s arriving in a striking vibrant orange.
A First Look at the Strap
Leaker Sonny Dickson shared images of the strap, which reportedly features a flexible metal core for durability and magnetic attachment points so users can clip it on and off with ease. Unlike most third-party straps, this one is expected to magnetize along its entire length, giving it a sleek, Apple-first twist.
Designed for TechWoven Cases
The strap will pair directly with Apple’s new TechWoven cases, set to replace the short-lived FineWoven lineup. Previous leaks have shown small attachment holes in the case corners — specifically made for looping in Apple’s new strap system.
Apple’s History With Straps
This move isn’t completely out of character for Apple. The AirPods Pro 2 case added a lanyard cutout, and the fifth-gen iPod touch shipped with its own strap. Still, a bold crossbody accessory designed for everyday use feels like Apple is leaning deeper into the fashion-meets-function space.
Orange Strap, Orange iPhone?
Interestingly, rumors also suggest the iPhone 17 Pro will debut in orange, making the strap feel like a natural companion piece. Whether it’s a niche add-on or the next must-have iPhone accessory, we’ll find out soon at Apple’s “Awe dropping” event on September 9.
