Apple isn’t done with iOS 26 just yet. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, two major features are still on the way: live translation via AirPods and Wi-Fi login syncing across devices.

What’s Still Coming to iOS 26?

Despite not being announced at WWDC 2025, these long-rumored features are reportedly still in the pipeline and expected to arrive with future updates of iOS 26:

  • Live AirPods Translation:
This feature will let users have real-time conversations in different languages, with translations delivered directly through AirPods which will be perfect for travelers and multilingual chats.
  • Captive Wi-Fi Syncing Across Apple Devices:
Tired of logging into the same coffee shop Wi-Fi on every device? This feature will remember and sync those logins across your iPhone, iPad, and Mac after the first sign-in.

Why Weren’t These Announced at WWDC?

According to Gurman’s Power On newsletter, Apple is now taking a more conservative approach with announcements, only unveiling features that are nearly ready to ship. After several delays with iOS 17 features last year, the company is looking to avoid another round of broken promises.

Apple was careful not to announce anything that wasn’t close to shipping (either in the first version of iOS 26 or an update soon after). The company didn’t want to risk repeating WWDC 2024, where it announced several features — including some tentpole technology — that were ultimately delayed by months or have yet to arrive.

When Will These Features Arrive?

Both features are expected to roll out in iOS 26.1 (October) or iOS 26.2 (December) — or possibly sooner through the beta cycle.

So if you’re excited about smarter AirPods and seamless Wi-Fi across your Apple gear, keep your eyes on those upcoming updates — Apple’s not quite done with iOS 26 yet.
