iFixit is officially back on the App Store, and it is not just returning with a basic repair guide viewer. The company has launched a completely redesigned repair app for iOS and Android, packed with new tools, smarter diagnostics, and an AI that claims it can help fix your devices in real time. The app is free, and it finally gives iPhone users a mobile-first way to access iFixit’s massive repair library.

The new app brings together device guides, a digital workbench, battery health tracking, and a surprisingly capable AI assistant called FixBot. It feels less like a manual and more like a pocket repair companion for anyone who likes to troubleshoot their own devices.

A Repair App Built for How We Use Phones Today

Ifixit App For Apple Repair 1

Most iFixit users were already reading guides on their phones, so this redesign centers the entire experience around mobile habits. The app automatically identifies the device you are using and gives you direct access to compatible guides. No searching required.

Every repair guide from the iFixit website is included. Whether you want to replace an iPhone battery, upgrade a Steam Deck SSD, or troubleshoot a MacBook, the content is formatted for small screens. Parts shopping is also built in, and the app checks compatibility before you buy anything.

FixBot Is the Star of the Update

The biggest feature is FixBot, an AI assistant trained on millions of iFixit community repairs. You can describe your problem using voice or text, and FixBot walks you through diagnosing the issue. If needed, you can share photos for better accuracy. FixBot can also respond verbally for hands-free help when your device is opened up on the table.

iFixit says FixBot is not just another chatbot. Instead of using generalized AI training data, the company fed it actual cases of successful repairs, troubleshooting logs, and community commentary. That makes its advice more practical and far less generic, especially for hardware problems.

For example, if you complain that your phone shuts down at 40 percent, FixBot might pull up battery cycle expectations, guide you to the battery health graphs inside the app, and recommend whether the issue is software or hardware related.

Battery Health Tracking Built In

One of the standout tools is the live battery monitor. The app can track real-time battery behavior and generate long-term graphs that show how quickly your iPhone’s battery is degrading. The idea is to predict when a replacement is coming rather than waiting until your phone becomes frustrating to use.

A Full Circle Moment for iFixit

It has been nearly ten years since Apple removed the original iFixit app from the App Store after the infamous Apple TV developer kit teardown. The ban remained in place for a decade until the company reinstated iFixit’s developer account. Now the repair community finally has a native app again, and this time with more features than ever.

FixBot is free for now, and iFixit says a paid “Enthusiast” plan for $4.99 per month will launch later, offering file uploads and other advanced tools.

The new app is available today on the App Store and Google Play.
