Just a few months after launching the Pixel 10 lineup last fall, Google has now given us our first official look at the Pixel 10a, the more affordable version that usually arrives in the spring.

Except this year, Google is moving faster than usual. Instead of waiting until April or May, the company is teasing the Pixel 10a in early February, which feels surprisingly early, especially since the rumor cycle has been pretty quiet.

A short teaser, but one big design change

Pixel 10 Camera Flushed

Google’s teaser is only about 15 seconds long, and it doesn’t reveal much beyond a few close-up shots.

But one detail stands out immediately: The Pixel 10a’s dual-camera setup looks completely flush.

Last year’s Pixel 9a already dropped the classic Pixel camera bar in favor of a small pill-shaped bump. Now, it seems Google has flattened things even further, making the back look cleaner and more seamless.

The phone shown in the teaser appears in a blue-purple shade that looks very similar to the Pixel 9a’s “Iris” color.

Pixel 10a pre-orders start February 18

Google did confirm one important thing: the timeline. The Pixel 10a will be available to pre-order from the Google Store starting February 18.

That’s the clearest signal yet that Google is pushing its A-series release schedule earlier again this year.

Expected specs (nothing too wild, but solid)

While Google hasn’t shared full specs yet, the Pixel 10a is expected to be a familiar upgrade rather than a major reinvention.

Rumored highlights include:

  • 6.3-inch display with 120Hz refresh rate
  • Tensor Pixel 10-era chip (likely a variant)
  • 8GB RAM
  • 256GB storage option
  • 48MP main camera
  • 13MP ultra-wide camera
  • 5,100mAh battery

Color options may include Iris, a possible pink “Berry,” plus the usual black and white.

Pricing should stay in the same range

The Pixel 9a launched at $499, and unless Google surprises everyone, the Pixel 10a is expected to land right around the same price.

That would keep it positioned as one of the more affordable ways to get Google’s flagship-style camera experience without paying full Pixel Pro money.

The Pixel 10a teaser doesn’t give away much yet, but the earlier-than-usual launch and the flattened camera design already make it feel like Google is refining the formula rather than rewriting it.

February 18 should tell us the rest.
