Google is giving its Photos app a major AI upgrade, and it starts with the Pixel 10. The company announced a new conversational editing feature that lets you tweak photos by simply telling Google Photos what you want, no fiddling with sliders or menus.
Talk to Google Photos, And It Edits For You
Instead of diving into tools and adjustments, you’ll just describe your edit in plain English (or even by voice). Google’s AI will then handle the technical details in the background.
Google says the AI can understand both simple and complex edits. Some examples include:
- “Restore this old photo.”
- “Remove the cars in the background.”
- “Fix the reflections and make the colors pop.”
- “Add clouds to the sky and brighten everything up.”
- “Put a party hat on her and add sunglasses.”

You can also chain multiple requests into one prompt, or refine with follow-ups — almost like having a photo editor who understands natural conversation.
Pixel-First, But Not Pixel-Only
The feature will debut on the Pixel 10 series, but Google hinted that it’ll expand to more devices later.
Alongside conversational editing, Google Photos is also gaining C2PA Content Credentials, which will make it clear how an image was captured or edited. This rollout is coming to Android and iOS in the next few weeks, so expect to see those tags on your photos soon.
Why It Matters
This is more than just a flashy AI demo. By removing the friction of menus and tools, Google Photos could become the easiest way to make professional-looking edits with nothing more than your words.
Whether you’re cleaning up an old memory or just having fun with edits, conversational AI makes the process accessible to everyone.
