Apple’s F1: The Movie has been a massive box office success, racing toward the $600 million worldwide mark since its June 27 premiere. Now, after its extended theatrical run, the film is shifting gears into the home release phase.
Available to Buy or Rent Now
You can now watch F1: The Movie on-demand at major digital platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and others.
- Rent: $19.99
- Buy: $24.99
This follows the industry-standard PVOD (premium video-on-demand) model. Eventually, once the movie fully exits theaters, pricing will drop to the standard digital release tier.
The home release arrives in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio, a letdown for IMAX fans who were hoping for a 1.90:1 format. Still, Apple sweetened the deal with iTunes Extras, offering around 45 minutes of bonus content.
When Will F1 Stream on Apple TV+?
Since Apple financed and produced F1: The Movie, the film will eventually land on Apple TV+, available at no extra cost to subscribers. However, there’s still no official streaming release date.
Suggested: Apple TV+ Price Increase 2025: Monthly Subscription Now $12.99
Based on Apple’s past theatrical releases, the PVOD window usually lasts one to two months. 9to5Mac points out this would place the likely Apple TV+ debut sometime in October or November.
Why It Matters
Apple is quietly building a reputation in Hollywood. What started as a streaming service with small, indie-style originals is now producing theatrical blockbusters that actually compete with the majors. If F1: The Movie ends its run north of $600 million, it won’t just be Apple’s biggest box office win yet, it’ll also prove that tech companies can set the pace in the entertainment industry, not just follow it.
