Apple has released iOS 26 beta 7 to developers, and it brings a handful of interesting changes for iPhone users compared to the previous build. Here’s a rundown of everything new in this version.

What’s New in iOS 26 Beta 7

Adaptive Power Notifications

The Power Mode settings now include a new option for Adaptive Power Notifications. This seems designed to alert users when performance may be reduced to preserve battery life. The toggle appears separately from Adaptive Power itself, giving users more control over the experience.

Redesigned Blood Oxygen Feature

Following approval of Apple’s workaround in its ongoing patent dispute with Masimo, iOS 26 beta 7 and watchOS 26 beta 7 reintroduce the redesigned Blood Oxygen measurement feature in the US.

  • Works with Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10, and Ultra 2.
  • Data is collected by the watch, but the iPhone processes the calculation.
  • Results show up in the Respiratory section of the Health app on iPhone, not directly on Apple Watch.
  • Background measurements are also supported, allowing the watch to collect oxygen data passively.

This is the same redesigned feature that Apple rolled out last week in iOS 18.6.1 and watchOS 11.6.1, and now beta testers can try it on the iOS 26 cycle.

Messages Drafts in Filter View

The Messages app now includes a new Drafts option in the filter view. This makes it easier to find conversations where you started typing but haven’t hit send yet.

macOS Tahoe Note

On the macOS side, beta testers have spotted a funny tweak: the MacBook onboarding video that reappeared in beta 6 without a notch has now been updated with the notch. Some speculated that the Mac shown without a notch in the onboarding video could hint at the rumored A18-powered budget MacBook. But with the notch now back, that theory looks far less certain.

Availability

iOS 26 beta 7 is currently available to developers. A new public beta is expected to arrive later this week with the same changes for broader testing.
