Delta Developer Unveils Game Boy Camera-Inspired App for iPhone

The nostalgia wave just got sharper (and grayer). Riley Testut, the developer behind the popular Delta emulator for iOS, has announced a new Game Boy Camera-style app for iPhone; Delta Camera, and it’s already in beta for Patreon subscribers.

Retro Vibes, Modern Upgrades

Delta Camera aims to recreate the low-res, monochrome magic of Nintendo’s classic 1998 Game Boy Camera, but with a bunch of iPhone-native upgrades. You’ll still get those grayscale pixelated portraits, but now you can adjust brightness, contrast, shoot multi-frame panoramas, and even use manual exposure and zoom.

And yes, it supports both front and back cameras, plus the Camera Control button on the iPhone 16 series.

Available Now for Beta Testers

The app is currently exclusive to Riley’s Patreon (starting at $3/month), with a full App Store launch expected later this year. While it doesn’t have the original’s quirky face-editing tools (yet), Delta Camera looks like a fun, retro twist on iPhone photography, minus the need for a Link Cable.

Whether you’re chasing childhood nostalgia or just want to post lo-fi portraits on Threads with ironic flair, this one’s worth keeping an eye on.
