Looks like Apple’s budget-friendly smartwatch is getting a bit of a glow-up. According to a new leak from trusted display analyst Ross Young, the Apple Watch SE 3 is in the works, and this time, it might be getting bigger.

SE 3 Displays Are Bigger Than SE 2

Young, known for his accurate display-related predictions, dropped the news in a subscriber-only post on X picked up by 9to5Mac. He spotted two new display sizes for what appears to be the Apple Watch SE 3 entering production. The sizes? Roughly 1.6-inches and 1.8-inches which would be slightly larger than the current SE models.

For context, the current Apple Watch SE comes in 40mm and 44mm case sizes. These new screen sizes line up pretty closely with the Series 9’s 41mm and 45mm models, suggesting the SE 3 could see a small (but noticeable) display bump while still staying a step behind the flagship Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra.

The timing of this leak is also interesting. As pointed out by 9to5Mac, Apple usually kicks off display production a few months before a product launch, and this sighting suggests the SE 3 could be on track for a September release, likely alongside the rest of Apple’s annual Apple Watch lineup.

There’s no word yet on other upgrades like chip performance, sensors, or design tweaks, but this leak alone is enough to confirm that the Apple Watch SE 3 is real and inching closer to a release.
