Apple just pulled the trigger: Apple TV+ is now $12.99/month, up from $9.99. Another price hike in the streaming wars, except this one feels different.

Netflix hides behind ad tiers, Disney+ floods you with endless sequels, but Apple? It’s saying: we’re premium, take it or leave it.

And you know what? That’s gutsy. TV+ doesn’t have thousands of shows. It has a handful, but they hit. Severance is appointment TV. The Studio is grabbing Emmy nods. And Apple’s doing it all ad-free, in 4K HDR, with Spatial Audio.

Still, let’s be real. Most people don’t live in TV+ like they do Netflix. It’s more of a “binge when the good stuff drops” kind of service. At $12.99, casual subscribers might think twice before letting it auto-renew.

Bottom line: Apple TV+ isn’t chasing everyone. It’s chasing you if you’re into prestige streaming with zero fluff. Bold, risky… but maybe worth it.
