Apple is “accelerating” development of three new AI-focused wearable products, according to a new report from Bloomberg.

The lineup reportedly includes smart glasses, an AI pendant device, and camera-equipped AirPods. All three products are said to be “built around the Siri digital assistant,” signaling Apple’s broader push to reposition Siri at the center of its next-generation hardware strategy.

AI smart glasses with environmental context

Apple’s smart glasses are described as a direct response to Meta’s smart glasses. The device will reportedly feature a high-resolution camera for photo and video capture, but it will not include a display.

Instead, the glasses will rely on:

  • Speakers
  • Microphones
  • Cameras

Prototypes reportedly include two camera lenses. One captures high-resolution images and video, while the second enables computer vision to provide environmental awareness.

This environmental context could power features similar to Visual Intelligence on the iPhone, as well as deeper integration with navigation and reminders.

“The goal is for the glasses to function as an all-day AI companion, capable of understanding what a user is seeing and doing in real time,” the report says.

According to Mark Gurman:

“Early prototypes of the glasses connect via a cable to a standalone battery pack and an iPhone, but newer versions have the components embedded in the frame. The design uses high-end materials, including acrylic elements intended to give the glasses a premium feel. Apple is already discussing launching the device in additional styles over time.”

Apple reportedly explored partnerships for the frames but ultimately chose to design the hardware in house, with multiple sizes and colors planned.

Apple’s AI pendant device

Apple Ai Pin

Apple is also developing an AI pendant, described as a thin, circular device with an aluminum-and-glass shell.

The report says the product is “reminiscent of the failed Humane AI pin,” but with key differences. Unlike the Humane AI Pin, Apple’s version will not include a display or projector system.

Instead, it will rely heavily on the iPhone for processing power.

“The pendant would essentially serve as an always-on camera for the smartphone that also includes a microphone for Siri input. Some Apple employees call it the ‘eyes and ears’ of the phone.”

The device may include two cameras, three microphones, and possibly a speaker. One internal debate reportedly centers on whether a built-in speaker is necessary, which would allow direct conversations without AirPods.

Apple envisions users wearing the device clipped to clothing or as a necklace.

However, the report cautions that the product “remains early-stage and could still be canceled,” though it could launch as soon as next year if development continues.

Camera-equipped AirPods

Finally, Apple is continuing development of AirPods with integrated cameras. These camera-equipped AirPods could launch as early as this year.

While details remain limited, the cameras would likely support environmental awareness features tied to Siri and on-device AI, further expanding Apple’s strategy of building contextual intelligence into wearable hardware.

Apple’s broader AI hardware strategy

Across all three devices, the unifying theme is clear. Apple appears to be building an ecosystem of AI-powered wearables designed to continuously gather environmental context and feed it into Siri.

If successful, these products could redefine how users interact with Apple devices throughout the day, shifting Siri from a reactive assistant to a persistent AI layer embedded in everyday hardware.

Whether all three devices make it to market remains uncertain. But according to Bloomberg, Apple is accelerating its work, signaling that its next major platform shift may revolve around AI-first wearables.
